Terms and Conditions
Those who use the rental bike service
This rental bicycle service is operated and managed by EAT8 K.K. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company"). These terms and conditions establish the rules that customers (hereinafter referred to as "users") must comply with when using this rental bicycle service. By using this rental bicycle, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
1. Reservation Reservations can be made at the Company's counter. Please fill out the reservation form and present it along with a valid form of identification (typically a passport) to complete the rental process. We will make a photocopy of your identification document. The representative for the reservation must be 20 years of age or older. In case of any discrepancies in the reservation form, we reserve the right to refuse the rental. If you have made a reservation, please notify us promptly of any changes or cancellations. Please note that if you exceed the scheduled reservation time, we may cancel the reservation, so please be aware of this.
2. Use of Personal Information Any personal information obtained by the Company related to the use of this service will be handled in accordance with the Company's separate "Privacy Policy."
3. Rental Fees Rental fees are based on a deposit or prepayment system. *1 Charger will be provided for rentals of two days or more. *2 Available only for individuals with a height of 150 cm or taller. For detailed information other than the above, please contact the Company.
4. Rental Hours Rental hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. ※ In case of exceeding 6:00 PM, an additional fee of 5,000 yen will apply until 10:00 PM. If it exceeds 10:00 PM, an inconvenience fee of 20,000 yen will be charged as a penalty since it may cause inconvenience to the next day's renter. Furthermore, if there is no contact and the return time significantly exceeds the expected time, or if the Company determines malicious intent, we may seize the deposit and file a report with the local police station.
5. Usage Conditions Generally, multiple bicycles cannot be rented to a single individual. However, if there is a person over 20 years of age within a group of users, rentals can be provided to minors within the group. Please note that children of elementary school age and younger may not be allowed to use the bicycles.
6. Return Location Please return the bicycles to the original rental location. ※ Additional charges will apply for pick-up at a location other than the designated return location due to unavoidable circumstances such as accidents.
7. Bicycle Malfunction If a bicycle malfunctions during use, please contact the Company or bring the bicycle directly to the rental location. The user will be responsible for the repair costs or cleaning expenses resulting from user-caused bicycle damage. The Company will not cover the repair costs if the user repairs the bicycle without prior consent from the Company. The Company shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the user or any third party due to bicycle malfunctions, except for cases directly attributable to the Company.
8. Theft or Loss of Bicycle In the event of bicycle theft, loss, or any other incidents during the rental period, please contact the Company immediately. In cases where significant negligence by the user is identified, the Company may charge a penalty of up to 300,000 yen.
9. Accidents During the rental period, users must comply with traffic laws and wear helmets while riding bicycles. The Company shall not be liable for any damages or losses incurred by users due to accidents, theft, or any other incidents caused by third parties. In the event of an accident during the rental period, users should promptly report the date, time, location, cause, and details of the accident to the police station and inform the Company. If settlement is required regarding the accident, it is the user's responsibility to handle it. The Company may seek compensation for damages from the user, including cases where the Company is compelled to pay compensation to third parties due to its own liability.
10. Loss or Damage of Keys In the event of lost or damaged bicycle keys, an exchange fee of 5,000 yen will be charged. In case of theft or loss of the bicycle due to the user's negligence, such as leaving it unlocked, a penalty as stated in section 8 may be charged.
11. Prohibited Actions Users must not engage in the following actions:
(1) Drunk driving, reckless driving, or any other violation of traffic laws.
(2) Use of bicycles in hazardous areas or other inappropriate locations.
(3) Parking bicycles in prohibited areas or places that obstruct pedestrians or cyclists.
(4) Modification of bicycles.
(5) Continuing to ride a bicycle if any abnormalities (such as a flat tire) are observed during operation.
(6) Allowing individuals other than the applicant (or individuals outside the group in the case of a group application) to use the bicycles.
12. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions These terms and conditions, as well as holidays, business hours, service content, etc., are subject to change without prior notice.
13. Termination of Use In the event of a user's violation of the terms and conditions, the Company reserves the right to terminate the usage and request the immediate return of the bicycle, even during the rental period. Furthermore, if the violation of the terms and conditions causes damage or loss to the Company or any third party, the user may be held liable for compensation or appropriate penalties.
